Development Team Manager - 01/03/2004 to 01/12/2005 - PlusNet Plc, Sheffield.
Managing teams of PHP and Java developers responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of 'Workplace' a web driven Operating System for PlusNet Plc. This role covers the day to day issue/incident management, project management, documentation reviews and updates as well as forecasting timescales, risk managament and capacity planning.

Team Projects include:

» Automation of ADSL Provisioning interfaces with BT using their XML interfaces.

I was also responsible for PHP developer recruiment from late 2004 through to the present and have tripled the size of the department in this time. Recruitment was done using standard interview techniques combined with written tests and psychometric/aptitude tests. Due to difficulties finding decent calibre programmers, my recruitment effort was turned to Europe, specifically Poland where we found more success. As a result of this I have had significant input into the overall structure and management of the entire department.

IS Manager - 02/09/2002 to present - Insight Europe, Sheffield.
Managing a team of 11 programmers and analysts responsible for the day to day maintenance and project development of the Insight Europe backend systems including the unix based custom written ERP system, a number of MS-SQL based data warehouses and the EDI translation systems all responsible for running a £300m+ per year business.
